New Norwich Shirt Sponsor BK8 Apologizes For ‘Sexually Provocative’ Social Media Posts | Football news
Norwich has asked new shirt sponsor BK8 to remove sexually provocative content that has appeared on the company’s social media accounts, stressing that the material “does not align with the club’s broader vision and values”.
On Monday morning, the Canaries announced the Asian betting company as their new main partner for the 2021/22 season.
This was later criticized, as supporters pointed to some of the company’s marketing materials online.
A Norwich spokesperson then said: “The club worked quickly with BK8 to cut the posts after the new partnership was announced.
“These publications and marketing do not align with the broader vision and values of Norwich City and we will be reviewing our due diligence process in the future.”
BK8 issued a statement apologizing for any infringements caused.
The company said: “Following the concerns and issues raised by Norwich City Football Club and its supporters following an announcement this morning, BK8 would like to sincerely apologize for any breaches caused by our historic marketing.
“We accept that this form of marketing is not suitable for a Premier League partnership.
“We have immediately removed all marketing material of this nature and will be conducting a review of our marketing strategy in the future.”
